No, we aren't closing (and other 2018 updates)

Hi everyone! I suppose this is our first real blog post, and I'd like to use it to dispel a few rumors--because nobody wants to think their favorite art gallery is closing! :)

If you haven't met me yet, my name is Rachel. Although I worked at the gallery in 2016-17, working on our social and online presence, I've only recently come back from maternity leave to work in the actual gallery. As such, I've been meeting a lot of you, and you are all so great! It's amazing what a variety of incredible clients and artists we are privileged to chat with and help on a daily basis. Thank you for being you, and for being so welcoming to me during my first month behind the physical counter, instead of just our screen!

We have been making a lot of changes here at Cascade Art Gallery. Some of them are bigger than others, and the biggest thing I've gotten questions on is "Is the gallery closing or moving? Is there new ownership?" Well, no. First and foremost, there has been no change in ownership, only management. We also have NO plans right now to either close or move. In fact, we are working on making the gallery better and better for you every day! It is true that we had a "for sale" sign in our front yard for a while, with the intent of moving to a different space. However, for now, and until further notice, we are definitely here to stay and rock your world! One of the ways we are doing that is by holding a huge art sale. Many of our gallery-owned pieces are up to 50% off! If there's something you've had your eye on for years here at the gallery, or if you have a space at home you need to decorate with some one-of-a-kind art, now is definitely the time to act.

Inside the gallery, we are making quite a few updates. We are and will remain the gallery you have always known and loved, but we are bringing things out of 2001 and looking forward to the 2020s! There have been a few changes in staffing, and we are excited to be reorganizing and refreshing the entire art gallery, piece by piece and room by room. Beginning this October, our plans include a monthly showcase in our main gallery room. You can come in anytime to see and hear all about the fresh art that's displayed!

In order to keep everyone updated quickly and easily on the events of each month at the gallery, we are sending out a newsletter, written by yours truly. I am sending these out approximately once a month, but sometimes more if we have a big event or sale I think you will be interested in. If you would like to be put on our email newsletter list, please either stop in and add your name to our booklet, or simply email cascadeartgallery@gmail.com with the phrase "add me to the email newsletter!" After all, it's always nice to get a break in your email inbox in the form of beautiful art and an invitation to a party or a big sale!

I personally look forward to meeting, chatting with, and assisting even more of you through the 2018 holiday season and well into 2019. Stop by to see what we're up to here at Cascade Art Gallery, the only European-owned art gallery in West Michigan.

See you soon,

Rachel
